I have been trying to wrap my head around creating a 'Macgyver' like type character. The system seems to almost suggest this type of character.
Any suggestions on making a Macgyver type character in Jadepunk?
It feels like an aspect for justification, then engineer rolls to create an aspect or asset is all that is needed. However, where I feel lost is that is the narrative justification of having the 'parts' handy - aka "Backpack Full of Useful Stuff." I am not looking for mechanical impact (as an asset),just the narrative of "Backpack Full of Useful Stuff."
I think I am just overthinking this... Is Gerard a Macgyver that uses guns?

If I were making Macguyver, I would set engineer as hi highest profession, Scholar and Explorer as the next lower, then maybe give him an asset that allows him to use engineer to attack provided it is with a jury rigged item he constructed, and maybe an asset that grants him a bonus to engineer but only when he is using items he scrounged from his surroundings. Also an ally for Pete and the Phoenix Foundation, maybe that would be his Jianghu organization(if you want to keep it set in Kausao). Just my thoughts on the matter.

Thanks.
I've had a time wrapping my head around the aspect functionality of Fate in general.
