Jadepunk Tales: Vigilance Committee Volume One is in layout right now. While we wait for the cover to be put together by the Jesse, what do you guys think of the artwork for it? Originally, all of the artwork was supposed to be like an old 1800's photograph, but the jade was so powerful that it couldn't be suppressed by black and white technology, coming through despite the technological limitations. At first, I thought that sepia-toned look was the way to go, but after looking at some actual photos, it does seem that those old pictures are a bit monochrome, doesn't it? I still think the sepia tone adds some flavor to the setting, making it feel more ancient and dated, but this just looks so nice. Which is your favorite?

I really liked the sepia tone art. It's tough to articulate it, but it just "feels" more right for that 1800s frontier vibe.

That was what I got from it, too, but you articulate the feeling of it better with the word "frontier".
And...y'know, that really does make even the martial arts images feel a little more like the old west, invoking that feel.

In jadepunk photographic paper isn't coated in silver chloride but by jade alchemical something, so it might "magically" reveal jade elements in colors and be looking like sepia That could make photograph an interesting point in the game by its disclosing power ;p
