I was rereading your beautiful book the other day, and I realized that there is no extreme consequence. Is that because it's a FAE adaptation, and FAE doesn't have it? I figured with the "rage against the man at any cost" theme of the game would be ripe for the extreme consequence of changing who you are to stay in the fight.

That being said, feel free to add it back in. I could see it going both ways, really. On the one hand I see what you are talking about. On the other, O could see not having an extreme, as the game is about not compromising your morality...

What I was getting at, though, wasn't compromising your morality, but doing the right thing no matter what. Exposing the corruption, but loosing your eye, say, in the battle to secure your proof. Gaining a pirate's brand when you stole food from the rich so the starving orphans can have their first meal in a week. That kind of thing. -EF

There's something more underlying in Jadepunk than in standard FC: the storytelling process. Character aspects bridge the gap with the setting and backstory a little more in Jadepunk than they do in vanilla Fate. That isn't to say they carry more weight, but they tie the character into the setting better. Anytime you change them, it should be a big deal, which makes Extreme consequences less "extreme". However, if it comes up in your game, go for it. You can't break it by doing so.
